
Kansas City is reeling after the heartbreaking death of Firefighter Paramedic Graham Hoffman, who was fatally stabbed while responding to a routine medical call on April 27, 2025. The 29-year-old hero was transporting a patient to a local hospital when the incident occurred. He was critically injured and later died at North Kansas City Hospital, despite emergency surgery.
Hoffman had served with the Kansas City Fire Department (KCFD) since 2022 and was known for his selfless service and dedication to the community. In response to the tragedy, Mayor Quinton Lucas expressed, “I am heartbroken. Kansas City has lost a true public servant. We will pursue justice and support his loved ones.”
The suspect, Shanetta Bossell, is in custody and faces charges including first-degree murder and assaulting an officer.KCFD paid tribute to Hoffman with a touching photo and described him as “compassionate, loving, and a leader.” His friend Kaydrie Groenke shared a heartfelt montage of memories, saying, “He brought joy, laughter, and unforgettable energy to our lives.”
